// Gina "Crush" Carano Biography

Gina Joy Carano aka Crush is one of the American Gladiators and an American Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. Her martial arts style is Muay Thai (a form of martial arts practiced in several Southeast Asian countries).

Crush was born in Dallas County, to parents Glenn Thomas Carano and Dana Joy Cason. As well as beauty, Gina Carano has the brains as she is a former psychology student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Familiarity with the spotlight runs in Crush’s family as Gina’s father, Glenn Carano played for the Dallas Cowboys football team as a backup quarterback from 1977-1983 as well as for the USFL Pittsburgh Maulers as a starter in 1984.

Crush has managed an impressive Muay Thai record of 12-1-1. Because of this Gina Carano received an offer to participate in the first ever female sanctioned MMA bout in Nevada. As well, she was invited to the World Pro Fighting show in Las Vegas to fight Rosy Sexton from the United Kingdom.

One of Cush’s recent bouts took place on the Showtime EliteXC card. She defeated Tonya Evinger using a rear naked choke for her first career win by submission.

Another win for Crush came on the Showtime EliteXC card when she defeated Julie Kedzie in a unanimous decision in what was touted as "the fight of the night".

Crush was also scheduled for a fight with Jan Finney at the EliteXC/K-1 Dynamite!! USA event, but it was cancelled due to illness. The first internet rumors where saying that there was a possibility that pregnancy was the real cause. Since then the Fight Network and other organizations reported that she was rushed to the hospital by ambulance while attending a World Extreme Cagefighting event.

Gina Carano also spends her time as a mentor to aspiring female fighters in the Oxygen reality series Fight Girls.

Even though she is a beauty, Crush earned her well-deserved nickname by smashing opponents into submission. Despite the fact that she’s easy on the eyes, she's a powerful, fierce opponent who has no problem putting women competitors in their place, and then going back to break men's hearts.
