Tomika Skanes is an established professional model/actress of exotic roots of African American and Korean American heritage. Her mother is full Korean and her father is African American. Tomika's parents met and fell in love while her father was stationed in Seoul, Korea. Tomika is the only girl in the family and is the middle child. Tomika has two brothers, Jimmy Skanes (older) and Donald Skanes, JR (younger). Tomika, being a military brat, traveled to various military bases all over the world and her family finally settled in Atlanta, Georgia. Tomika attended Georgia State University, where her major was Computer Science. Currently, Ms. Skanes resides in Atlanta where she designs websites for a living and owns a Modeling agency of her own called Industry Factor.

Tomika Skanes began her modeling career at age 22 when she was discovered at a basketball game.

Tomika Skanes has also modeled in the Import Racing Scene which seems to be the spring board for a great modeling career.

Tomika eventually moved into the music video scene. She was able to land jobs related to the music industry that include CD covers for OutKast's "Stankonia" CD cover 2002, the cover for Big Boi's 2003 CD "Speaker Boxx" and promotional material for 112's 2003 CD.

Tomika has also done consistent print work. To her credit are covers and editorial/pictorial spreads in many urban mainstream magazines such as Black Men mag, SSX, KING mag, XXL magazine and Smooth Magazine. Major magazine print work is also included in Tomika Skanes portfolio. Tomika has been featured in major hair magazines such as Black Hair Sophisticates, Style Q, Metrostyles, Salon Profiles, and Montage Magazine.

Tomika Skanes also has television work to her credit such as appearances in Beauty Shop the movie (starring Queen Latifah), a Boost Mobile Commercial (braiding Ludacris's hair), as one of the BET's Comic View models as well as others.
